• White Rock Fire Station replaced the over 40-year-old previous fire station
• Site was located on Rover Boulevard, between State Road 4 and the Rover/Meadow intersection and will serve White Rock for fifty years
• Single-level stand-alone structure
• Designed to house 16 firefighters, four officers, and five apparatus bays
• Included a conference/training room to accommodate 50 individuals
• Structure was a combination of pre-engineered metal framing and conventional construction including steel bar joists, metal deck, steel beams and columns, and masonry walls
• During design development, the cost of the pre-engineered metal bent frames and standard long span joists were evaluated to determine the best method to handle the long spans
• Foundations were concrete spread footings with concrete slab on grade
• Project was LEED^® Approved – recycled, regional and low-emitting materials
