Chavez-Grieves Consulting Engineers, Inc. completed several comprehensive design-build projects for San Felipe Pueblo. Chavez-Grieves Consulting Engineers, Inc. provided structural engineering services for the pueblo’s new racetrack. The project scope included full-service structural design for grandstand bleachers capable of holding 37,000 racing enthusiasts, a 3,100 square-foot press box, a 22,000 square-foot, two-level stand-alone concession building, and a 2,000 square-foot stand-alone concession building. The racetrack also features sprint-car racing. The estimated cost was $3 million. Chavez-Grieves provided a structural system of a metal deck over steel bar joists at the roof, steel stud and masonry bearing walls, a concrete slab-on-grade and a concrete spread footing foundation. The lateral system is a combination of masonry shear-walls and light gage strapped walls.
